How to Make Your Nail Wraps Last 2 Weeks
Getting a fresh set of nail wraps feels amazing, but the real goal is keeping them looking that way for as long as possible. The good news? With a few simple habits, your CATU nail wraps can easily last the full two weeks.
Here's exactly what to do.
1. Start with clean, dry nails
This is the most important step and the one most people skip. Any oil, hand cream, or moisture on your nails will reduce adhesion from the very first minute. Before applying, wipe each nail with a little rubbing alcohol or acetone on a cotton pad. It takes 30 seconds and makes a huge difference.
2. Choose the right size
When in doubt, go smaller. If a wrap touches your skin or cuticle, natural oils from the skin will work their way underneath and cause lifting. Choose the size that covers your nail without overlapping onto the skin - leave a tiny gap from the cuticle.
3. Press firmly and seal the edges
After applying, press the wrap down firmly across the entire nail, especially around the edges. Use your thumb to really push it in. Then file downward (never side to side) along the tip to remove the excess. This creates a clean, sealed edge that resists chipping.
4. Add a top coat
This is your secret weapon. A thin layer of clear top coat over your CATU wraps adds shine, seals the edges, and can add several extra days of wear. Apply it right after and again mid-week if needed.
5. Be mindful for the first hour
Your wraps need a little time to fully bond after application. Avoid washing your hands or submerging your nails for at least an hour after applying. Once set, they're ready for everything.
6. If a corner lifts, don't panic
A small lift doesn't mean the whole wrap is done. Use a hairdryer on low heat for 5–10 seconds to soften it, press it back down firmly, and seal with top coat. Good as new.
